Danny (Paul Rudd) and Wheeler (Seann William Scott) are Sales Reps for an Energy Drink.

Danny is unhappy with his career and where he’s at in life and after a string of unfortunate events one morning, he tries to drive the company car off a tow truck and crashes it into a statue. He and Wheeler are both sentenced to 150 hours of community service as mentors for children.

Danny is paired with Augie (Christopher Mintz-Plasse), a teenager who walks around in a cape and sword and is a part of L.A.I.R.E, a fantasy game world.

Wheeler is paired with Ronnie (Bobb’e J Thompson), a bad-mouthed kid who is about as mature as Wheeler (which isn’t saying much).

They have a rough start as mentors but as they get to know and care for these kids they start to do better.

Danny stands up for Augie when his parents start criticizing him for his eccentricities and shows him that it’s okay to be who he is and when Danny inadvertently gets Augie kicked out of L.A.I.R.E, they all pull together to get him back in.

With a great supporting cast including Elizabeth Banks as Danny’s girlfriend Beth and Jane Lynch as Gayle Sweeney, the women in charge of the mentoring program.

This movie kept me laughing until the very end with Paul Rudd’s dry sense of humor and Seann William Scott’s over the top sense of humor, they compliment each other so well.

The fantasy game world L.A.I.R.E was so well portrayed that even someone not familiar with the genre will be entertained and immersed. Rated R for crude and sexual content, strong language and nudity.
