Back to brighter days (literally and figuratively). I've got some cool recommendations to make for a warm day! First, if you have not seen "Horton Hears a Who" at your local movie theater- go, do, now. It's an awesome flick even if you don't take the kids as a cover for your own curiosity.

I'm not sure if it would be as good if the source material didn't exist or if it would make the fact that it's a good movie even more impressive. Either way it's fantastic. The animation brings a modern sensibility to the illustrations of the Seuss book and the story has an abundance of life lessons that we could all stand to hear one more time.

Second recommendation is for you to look up the band HoneyHoney. They opened for Lifehouse the other night at First Ave and I really dug their stuff. They have a new EP entitled "Loose Boots" and you can find them at their MySpace page- www.myspace.com/honeyhoneyband.

Keep in mind that there is a song or two with some explicit lyrics so hopefully your not easily offended. If you can stand some innuendo, some not-so-innuendo, and a curse word or two I pretty much guarantee satisfaction.

One last thing... Just like to shout out to film director Anthony Minghella and author Arthur C. Clarke, both of whom died within the last two days. Both very talented and respected artists in their fields.
