Tomorrow (well, tonight really) the new Star Trek movie comes out and i am excited! Since I started blogging on this site I've made it no secret that I am a nerd of ginormous proportions.

About two years ago I bought a plant. It was my very first plant and I was trying to brighten up my apartment a little.

Yes, it's Earth Day again. The one day we celebrate the only planet we have to live on.

Okay, not a banjo, but a genuine guitar. I am the proud owner of my first true musical instrument (unless you count harmonicas, haha).

I was going to start posting every Tuesday and Friday and I was on a roll. Then... I moved. I was without internet (gasp!) and when it returned I was preoccupied with other things.

Today's blog is brought to you by the letter 'W'...Here are the big movie films coming your way this weekend (to one of those theaters near you).

Maybe I'll think of a better title soon but until then my Tuesday release entries are going to be called "Tuesday Roll Call".

Pretty much the same as Fridays, except I'm going to list the new DVDs and CDs (not all of them, really- just the big ones) and give my impression. Because my opinion is important.

In an attempt to post more regularly I'm going to try and post new movies being released to theaters on Fridays and what my first impression of them is. In addition to that I'm going to do the same thing for DVDs and CDs on Tuesday.

To avoid stepping on the toes of the music guy, the television guy and the movie guy on this site I'm going to still sprinkle in some random topic articles that may or may not have any relevance or interest to you, our readers. But I will not be able to stay away from reviewing movies like, say, 'The Dark Knight' later this summer.

A movie legend has passed on. Early Sunday morning Stan Winston, special effects GENIUS, died of complications with cancer. It was the second death within in a week to shock me (the other being journalist Tim Russert) but Stan's was the one to actually make me sad.

Anyone who reads this knows I am a HUGE movie buff and Stan Winston is one of those guys that if you don't know who he is- your nerd membership is revoked instantly. Stan was a behind the camera guy who was well known for what he did.
