Well, I guess Chris Martin will just have to dress warmer when he comes to St. Paul.
Coldplay has postponed their planned July 8 concert at the Xcel Energy Center; the new date is Nov. 14 (brrrrrrr).
Here's the announcement on the band's Web site:
If someone knows how I can get tickets to KDWB's Star Party without either having to exacerbate the tendinitis in my dialing thumb or paying $150 for these "free" tickets on Craigslist, let me know.
I actually got through and got the correct answers for one contest this morning. They took my name, asked me for the answers, told me they were correct, then promptly put me on hold and then came back and said they already got a winner. Huh? Then why did they bother with me?
I finally got to see "There Will Be Blood" this weekend. Best movie I've seen in a long, long, long, long time.
It's the kind of movie that doesn't get made much anymore - great acting, original storyline, fantastic cinematography, well-placed but not overdone musical score, etc.
Daniel Day-Lewis tops even himself in this one. A must-see, an instant classic.
Oh, and I DRINK YOUR MILKSHAKE! (My husband got really tired of hearing me repeat this phrase dramatically over the weekend).
Though I love St. Patrick's Day (I'm 100-percent Irish, at least in my heart), I'm always disappointed by the bar scene on this "holiday." Every year, I think it's a good idea to join my friends for a drink on St. Patty's; every year, I walk away irritated and smelling of the beer some idiot spilled on me. I'm almost glad I have a City Council meeting to attend tonight.
Here's why:
5. The bars are so packed on St. Patrick's Day that it takes 10 minutes to walk from the door to the bar and another 20 minutes to get a drink. Then what? There's barely enough room to raise your glass.
I saw "No Country for Old Men" this weekend, and while I thought the acting and directing was terrific, I just couldn't get past the blood and guts.
And what was up with that ending?
I get what they're trying to say. I just didn't like how certain things weren't really resolved. I won't say much more for fear of spoiling it for those who haven't seen it.
For those who have seen the movie - what did you think? Was it worthy of the "best picture" Oscar?

The “old” me would have scoffed at a person who admitted to being fanatical about a mega-popular band of good-looking guys from Los Angeles. The “old” me went away about four years ago.
The moment I stopped being a music snob, I started enjoying music so much more. And I fell in love with a band called Maroon 5.
(Let’s just get this out of the way right now: Adam Levine is smokin’. Look him up. If you don’t think he’s cute, good, because that means there will be one less lusty woman to contend with at their shows.
