My family saw the children's musical group The Wiggles in Council Bluffs, Iowa last week and loved the show. My two-year-old was a little nervous at the start of the show. But she started jumping up and down when the foursome drove on stage singing "Big Red Car," seated in their little red car.

She sang along and pointed at and named several of the costumed characters, including Henry the Octopus. Ballet dancers, acrobats and little skits were woven into the song set, which included one my daughter's favorites, "Rock-a-bye Your Bear."

I was pleased to learn I'm not the only mom with a crush on one of The Wiggles. A woman held a sign that read, "Anthony, you're one hot potato." The Mid-America Center burst into female cheers and whistles for the blue Wiggle.

Most appealing of was the emphasis the group put on making direct contact with the kids. They made tons of eye contact, sent out lots of waves and wiggly fingers, and read aloud signs that kids brought to the show. They left the stage to collect the gifts kids brought to the show, like bones for Wags the Dog and roses for Dorothy the Dinosaur.

We ate cotton candy; our daughter wiggled on the dance floor right next to the stage; and I really meant it when I told my husband it was the best concert ever.
