I've been to TJ Maxx's in

I've been to TJ Maxx's in CA, IL & MI and this one is ok, not fantastic and not awful. I visit this store once a week because it's near other stores I frequent. There are some TJs that I can find a ton of things each visit... this one is not so reliable.

That's so cute. I love that

That's so cute. I love that you had red Mary Janes. Were you a super fashionable kid? I was sort of awkward -- I liked pretty things but was a tomboy too -- I still can't get enough denim! Not expensive denim mind you. The most I've spent on jeans is around $60, probably for Ralph Lauren semi-mom jeans. I just don't think I could cross the three-digit threshold for denim. But I might buy spendy jeans at a consignment store. Wait, weren't we talking about shoes?

When I was a kid (and my now

When I was a kid (and my now 40-year-old baby sister was in a stroller still), my mom took me shoe shopping at this huge shoe store. While trying on shoes, I put one of my old shoes (a very worn red leather Mary Jane) on the tray of the stroller.

After trying one oodles of shoes and not finding anything that I liked or that fit right, I went to put on my old shoe but it was nowhere to be found.

I remember a salesman (they still worn suits and measured you foot back then) helping us look for it, but I ended up walking out with only one shoe.

Woman walks into a TJ Maxx...

So I was shopping for a dress to wear to a wedding. Limited time and dread of seeing my reflection in the mirror had me sweating. Found a sort of cute 60s style dress and a royal blue shrug. But when I went to check out I noticed my sweater, which had been tied around my waist, was missing. After leaving my info with Lost and Found I jumped into line to check out. But then I checked the time and I was running late for an appointment. I dropped the dress and shrug and ran out of TJ Maxx with no wedding attire and no sweater. There is no moral to this story.
