Just went to see the movie this afternoon (Sun). WONDERFUL!!
Energetic. Full of action. I don't understand why guys
probably wouldn't enjoy it - 3 of us guys went today. One
went for the 3rd time and probably will go again in the
next couple of days. I do plan to go see it at least one
more time. Still singing some of the songs in my mind.
Go see it. Enjoy it. ABBA -- one of the best groups ever!!!

Nearly six years ago, my sister and her boyfriend (now husband) and I listened to ABBA and Kid Rock (her choice of music) all the way to Louisiana and back while I was origamied into the backseat of her Volkswagen Jetta.

During the trip we called my boyfriend (now husband) and my sister told me ask him what his favorite ABBA song was.

His reply: "An empty set."

Lucky for me, my neighbor wants to go to this movie with me; otherwise, I'd be on my own.

I saw this yesterday (with a girlfriend; my husband was not interested). My friend and I had seen it on Broadway in 2002, and the movie was every bit as fun as it had been on the stage. The movie does not take itself one bit seriouly. The premise is crazy fun and the tone of the show gives the audience permission to just sit back and enjoy the show. It's beautiful, colorful, crazy and fun. Before I saw the show in 2002, I wasn't much of an ABBA fan, but this show made me one. Funny how some shows work so well on the stage, but end up being lousy movies. I think of "Rent" and "Camelot" -- great stage musicals that were really poor movies. I was a little nervous "Mama Mia" would be the same, but it wasn't. It's just fun, fun, fun. And because the show doesn't try to be serious, you can forgive Pierce Brosnan's poor singing. It ends up just being part of the fun.

I'm still singing 'Dancing

I'm still singing 'Dancing Queen,' three days after seeing the movie with friends. Start with the music (who doesn't love ABBA?), add beautiful scenery (LOVED looking at Greece) and top it off with Meryl Streep completely embracing the role of Donna - and you've got a great girls night out. I agree, watching Pierce Brosnan 'speak-sing' was painful at best, but by the end of the movie he just added to the many laughs we enjoyed. The other actors and actresses were pure delight in their roles, even though daughter Sophie (the young female lead) and her betrothed looked like they were all of 12 years old!

I popped in my ABBA Gold CD as soon as I got into my car after the movie, opened the windows and 'Dancing Queened' all the way home.

My husband likes all those

My husband likes all those blow-things-up movies, which I don't care for. Maybe I need to sneak out of the office and watch this movie so I can write a movie review on it. I don't think the two male movie reviewers on this site are planning to expound on the flick. But maybe they'll prove me wrong?

Some girlfriends and I went

Some girlfriends and I went to the movie just last night and it is unanimous we all loved it!! If you don't come out singing and wanting to dance you are crazy! I love the music by ABBA. I have seen the musical as well and like both equally. I will say that Pierce Brosnan may not be able to sing but I can bypass that because he is so hot. Meryl Streep is excellent in this movie and the two other gals that are her girlfriends. I am not sure the guys would enjoy this much but I would say there were 3 or 4 there last night. I am currently singing along to my CD of Mama Mia. My recommendation is go to the movie and enjoy!
