So, did anyone catch the season finale of "The Tudors" last night? Poor Anne. As witchy as she could be, she really didn't deserve to lose her head.

I just realized last night

I just realized last night that I was watching The Tudors on Channel 101, not Showtime. Can your husband get free Showtime for me:) I think there's a deal going on for $20 or $25 off. I haven't seen Weeds because I don't think I get that channel. But I have been watching Breaking Bad on AMC (Oh, how I love Mad Men) and Dexter on Showtime. (The first season is being shown on CBS). Both shows are morally ambiguous. The first features a chemistry teacher with cancer who cooks meth to save money for the family he expects to leave behind. The latter stars a lovable serial killer (Michael C. Hall from Six Feet Under) who works for the police department. The audience roots for him because he only kills bad people. Hmmm.

Melissa, The network sites

Melissa, The network sites that replay their shows seems terribly choppy even when I had top tier high speed cable internet access. YouTube stuff works fine for the most part even on my downgraded poor man's cable internet access.

The Tudors sounds like an interesting show. It pains me that the pay movie channels can produce better TV than the networks who are supposed to be good at that.

Having said that, has anyone watched "Weeds" on Showtime? That's one I wish would make the jump to CBS too.

MEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! Actually,

MEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! Actually, both my husband and I have been watching the free showing of the first season on DirecTV. They played every episode from the first season, and now we're hooked.
So I convinced Jeff to call DirecTV and see if we could get three months of free Showtime just so we could watch the second season, which starts March 30. I don't know how he does it, but he always succeeds on such endeavors, and we're all set up to enjoy, free!
This is a great series. Church scandals, sex, relatively mild violence, the Plague, Jonathan Rhys Meyers in various stages of undress...(don't worry, men, there's plenty for you to enjoy, too - remember, Henry was a ladies man and always had some hot women around).

Anyone watching The Tudors on Showtime? Jonathan Rhys Meyers plays an enticing King Henry VIII.
Do you need a fast Internet

Do you need a fast Internet connection to watch TV online? I've watched a few episodes of CSI Miami and they were really choppy. I'm apprehensive about posting videos on this Web site because I know it's irritating if they don't download and play quickly.

Oh man, I totally have to 'fess up to watching Gladiators! Reading this post makes me feel about 25% bad for being a part of the idiotic masses that watch this drivel. The other 75% of me says "who cares, it gives me flashbacks to Saturday mornings of my childhood and makes me laugh really hard." I mean, I know that the spandex, rippling muscles, and Hulk Hogan's horribly scripted commentary are beyond ridiculous. But this is what makes it hilariously fun for me to watch! Long live Gladiators! (Er, at least long enough to last until real television comes on again.)

When I first saw the commercial for "Clash of the Choirs" I thought it was one of those fake spoof commercials (making fun of all the horrible reality TV shows) and I laughed my a** off. How can this be a REAL show? Who thinks these things up? I'm pretty sure they don't mean it to be funny, but if they do, the commercial is a HUGE success.

My favorite scene in "Elf" is when Jovie (Zooey Deschanel) unknowningly sings a duet with Buddy the Elf (Will Ferrell) to "Baby It's Cold Outside." Watch the scene on YouTube. Type "Baby It's Cold Outside from ELF" into the search box.

Actually, I enjoy myself a good ole Holiday special. We've watched "Shrek the Halls", "The Grinch" (animated version) and "Frosty" so far, but I also HAVE to see "Rudulph" and "A Charlie Brown Christmas" to make my holiday complete. I enjoy settling in with the kids and enjoying the holidays via TV. Maybe it's because most of these shows take me back to my own childhood, but either way it's warm and fuzzy and I like it.

As far as my favorite Holiday FILMS - "Elf" and "Bad Santa" are always must sees.

I was curious about "Pushing Daisies". I caught a few minutes of it last night and it seemed very Tim Burtonish to me (which is a good thing). Has anyone watched it? What do you like/dislike about it? Is it worth watching?

I haven't watched '24' enough to really be able to comment ... but I will anyway. It seems sort of old-fashioned that the men are out doing the adventurous stuff while the women stay at home. There's a ton of women in the military in 2007.

But now that I think of it, taking care of the kids is a heck of a lot harder than fighting terrorists. My toddler terrorist nearly gouged my eye out this morning!
