Thanks to the DVR and a busy schedule, I am 4 or 5 episodes behind on Dexter. If the rain keeps up, I may get a chance to watch a couple tonight - so don't tell me what happens!

I haven't seen anything about CBS picking up "Dexter" for an additional run on the network although the trend seems to be a sharing of material between the networks and their cable siblings. The third season of "Dexter" starts this autumn on Showtime and after the first season wrapped last night, we can hope that the second season airs next year for those of us who aren't willing to fork over the cash for Showtime.

Caught Dexter for the first time this past week. He's a serial killer? OK, now it's starting to make sense! (In any case, I enjoyed the writing and dark approach, even though I'm a little behind on the plot line.) I seem to recall the network broadcast making a mention of Showtime -- do you happen to know if CBS will be airing more episodes, or is the show moving back to cable TV?

Oh man, I really like Dexter and I wish I didn't. It's so wrong. I should not be rooting for a serial killer. But Michael C. Hall plays a really intriguing character. I also feel bad about liking Breaking Bad on AMC, which also produces my beloved drama Mad Men. As a responsible adult, I like watching these shows but it scares me to think of kids or less healthy people watching this stuff.

I think the most fun show I ever went to was the Red Hot Chili Peppers at the XCel Energy Center in 2003. My friends and I jumped the railing and went into the general admission section and had an absolute blast! They have such stage presence and really involve the audience, so it was a lot of fun and obviously they also played very well.
I have always heard such amazing things about live music (especially Dave Matthews Band) at Alpine Valley, but I've never been. I am very jealous. The Police were absolutely amazing. The crowd was great, the energy and music were great, and I haven't had that much fun at a show since the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Their music is kind of catchy and poppy, but it has real musicianship behind it. They have some of the best melodies in the last thirty years of music. I encourage everyone to give them a listen.

What's the best live musical performance you've ever seen? Mine was seeing the Pixies play at First Ave about 16 years ago. I won tickets from KJ104 and begged my parents to let my older cousin take me to the show. Thus began my love affair with live music, which is on temporary hiatus due to motherhood!

How were The Police? I've never been overly fond of their music, but I'm sure they'd be really great live. Live music is a wonderful thing. *sigh* Um, let's see. I'm going to see the Dave Matthews band with some friends. We're taking a road trip to Alpine Valley, WI for the weekend, camping, and seeing the two shows. If you ever get a chance to see some live music at Alpine Valley, you really should. It's almost a magical experience--a beautiful amphitheater on a summer evening, with a huge, excited crowd...
