The New York Times totally dissed the X-Files movie. I was a fan of the TV show but didn't care for the first movie much so I don't have high expectations for 'Believe.'

I haven't seen "The Dark Night" yet, but my 12-year-old daughter went to it with her dad and thought it was really scary. What's the rating on it? Is it a good movie for middle schoolers?
I saw the movie and really enjoyed it.
It was far beyond the typical superhero stuff. It (and the last Batman)showed the human side of Batman and, to a certain extent in this movie, the Joker. (What a performance by Heath Ledger, BTW! Wow!)
As far as whether it is scary and if a middle-schooler can handle it, I would say it depends on her/his personality and how they handle movies with some violence and, well, very bad people. It's rated PG-13.

I saw The Dark Knight and loved it. It was actually really deep and made you think about identities and your personality and delve deep into your own psyche, all of those things great movies do. However, it also gave me nightmares and as a 20-year-old, I wouldn't recommend it for children. This is one film where the audience should adhere to the PG-13 rating. Heath Ledger was really amazing in it, you totally forget it's him and you almost forget he's human; that's how cold and ruthless the Joker is. Even if you don't love superhero films, The Dark Knight is worth checking out. But the almost two-hour running time makes it a real commitment, so don't go at 11:30 p.m. if you have to work the next day!
