No, despite the title this is not about "pro" wrestling. It is instead about one of those tough entertainment choices forced upon the average viewer by network television- which of your favorite shows to watch when they are both on at the same time. I know what you're saying. Well, I don't have a TiVo. And sometimes my VCR is unreliable as it's the first one my family ever bought which means it's at least twenty years old. Like a lot of things that age it is not always reliable.
Monday nights is the showdown of Fox's '24' (or as I like to call it, 'The Jack Bauer Power Hour') and NBC's 'Heroes'. I became obsessed with '24' last fall, watching the first five seasons on DVD in just under three months. As for 'Heroes'...it's like a non-costume version of the X-Men so of course I was destined to like it. I have recently found myself much more into 'Heroes' than '24'. Unfortunately I fall into the camp that considers Kiefer Sutherland's latest terrorist butt kicking season a wee bit subpar.
The plot twists in '24' this season seem like rehashed or unused devices from previous seasons and they revolve around a bunch of characters I find a little too whiny and annoying. Plus the cliffhanger endings just aren't what they used to be and the write-as-they-go formula isn't making for a very coherent season. Whereas on 'Heroes' there seems to be a well thought out climax that the entire season has building to involving characters that become more interesting and complex with each week so that you actually care what happens to them.
Add to all this the fact that as the acting on 'Heroes' gets better, those actors on '24' seem to be in need of some theater night classes.
Anyone else have any thoughts on this? i could go on but then I'd just be rambling.

I haven't watched '24'
I haven't watched '24' enough to really be able to comment ... but I will anyway. It seems sort of old-fashioned that the men are out doing the adventurous stuff while the women stay at home. There's a ton of women in the military in 2007.
But now that I think of it, taking care of the kids is a heck of a lot harder than fighting terrorists. My toddler terrorist nearly gouged my eye out this morning!
