Sever's Corn Maze is hot on the political trail (plus, a video on how to pick the right ear of corn)

Compiled by Karla Wennerstrom Play with the political season at Sever’s Corn Maze and Fall Festival. Located next to Canterbury Park in Shakopee, it costs $11 for ages 4 and older. Children 3 and younger get in free. The maze this year features the White House and says, “Vote 08,” as well as the candidates’ names. Hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays through Nov. 2. The corn maze is also open the Thursday and Friday of MEA, Oct. 16 and 17. Sever’s Corn Maze has a hot topic “**Pinnie**” might have said it best on the Sever’s Corn Maze Myspace page: “SEVER’S CORN MAZE IS HOT!!!!!” This year, the corn maze dips back into the political pool with an election theme – a decidedly hot topic this year. Since 2000, the maze has had an election theme in presidential election years. A president has even visited the maze, Bill Clinton. Oh, and this year, “presidents, senators and congressmen get in for free!”
