"Married Alive!," the latest offering at Chanhassen Dinner Theatres’ Fireside Stage, is a close cousin to the hit "I Do! I Do!," the longest running show on the Chanhassen stage. It also contains some of the same humor captured in another Chanhassen forerunner, "Mid-Life! The Crisis Musical."
While some of the themes are familiar, there is plenty of humor to be had in this musical comedy.

The story line of a small town girl coming to the big city to seek her fortune and make her dreams come true is timeless. It’s the Horatio Alger story of hopefulness and optimism with a little bit of luck thrown in. It’s the American dream.

Comedy Night in a crammed room about the size of handball court with only one route to a pallet-sized stage isn’t supposed to work.

It’s a production that includes surprising stories, heart-wrenching moments and, what can best be described as a hilarious sequence of moans.
It is “The Vagina Monologues,” after all.
